Hey Loan Officers! This is a great book to give to your clients. All your disclosures would be covered. Plus it is full of good advice. I even learned a few things. Worth the price.
Long over due. January 2, 2008 Mortgage Trainer (Monroe, NC) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
This type of information is long over due not only for consumers but industry folks as well. Two respected professionals in their own field come together to give timley, important information to consumers,
industry and everyone else.
This is not only a must read for anyone thinking of buying, selling or refinancing their home but should be part of any real estate or mortgage professional's library.
Excellent for beginners February 11, 2009 Ken Charles (San Diego, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great format! I liked the way the text was laid out using "myths" and "stories" to illustrate the points. Anyone just starting out looking for a home will find this a great resource.
Have enjoyed other books by Ralph, so this was an easy pick - and I wasn't disappointed.
Myth vs. Fact a good formula! April 26, 2010 Carla Samson (Cincinnati, OH) I found this book quite enjoyable! The format is creative in the way it pits Myth vs. Fact, and uses a lot of stories to illustrate the points.
It is obvious that authors Chip Cummings and Ralph Roberts have a great deal of experience in the real estate and mortgage worlds, and while some of the strategies (such as no income loans) are no longer available, it delivers a great deal of value to the reader. better yet, the authors make a point of illustrating how "bad" those types of loans were!
Would definitely recommend this book to any new first-time home buyers BEFORE you start searching for a home! Would be a great investment.
Fun format makes this worth it June 1, 2009 Richard Turner I picked this up with the authors other book "Foreclosure Myths", as I liked the style and easy-to-read format used.
While several things in the mortgage world have changed, there is some good basic advice and tips provided to steer any would-be homebuyer in the right direction.
The 100% programs mentioned are no longer available, but the stories are great, and illustrate how to avoid major problems that can waste money.
Definitely recommend for new homebuyers.
